How to choose a removal company
*Top of the list must be membership of the British Association of Removers, This will guarantee that your chosen company will arrive to carry out the move and work to a very high standard.
Deposits or payments will also be secure.
*Ask your friends and neighbours for recommendations
*Google search company history … Bad or good should be obvious
*Look for value for money not the cheapest price you can get.
*Choose a long established family firm if possible because you are more likely to be in contact directly with the owner.
*Check that staff has been trained and are full time.
*Some firms advertise Insurance cover but don’t really have it. Don’t be afraid to ask for Proof.
*Visit company premises, it’s worth a drive out to have a look at  premises and how a company is run.
Have a cup of tea and discuss your move ….Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
Many firms will drop out if a better paying job is taken on so look out for signs of this. It’s important to feel comfortable right from the start.

Cheap removals are cheap for a reason, take your time and choose wisely. An operator who is above board has a lot of expenses to cover.
*Each removal vehicle can cost between £60,000 and £200,000
*Road tax is roughly £1000 per truck
*Diesel costs only go one way …Up! The average removal truck does between 6 and *9 miles per gallon
*Labour intensive
*Packaging material directly linked to price of fuel
*Companies need to have good repute and financial standing for an operators licence
*Must have sufficient funds by law to keep vehicles in a serviced and road worthy condition.
*Drivers hours must be monitored and adhered to
